The Emir of Al Sharqiya stressed the importance of the public transport project by buses launched by the Eastern Province Municipality in cooperation with other service agencies, which aims to change the lifestyle, improve it and humanize the cities of the Eastern Region, stressing the important role that the project will play in developing the traffic and economic aspects, in addition to other projects that It seeks to contribute to achieving the goals of (Kingdom's Vision 2030) by developing the infrastructure and economy in the region, unleashing its potential and competitive capabilities, and improving the investment environment and climate in it.

It is noteworthy that the public transport project by buses in the metropolis of Dammam, whose contract was signed for a period of five years, at a value of 149.6 million riyals, and a network of different lines within the cities of Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Qatif, through scheduled and organized trips with a total distance of 400 kilometers back and forth, for the entire The tracks, while the number of established stations reached 212, covering most of the attractions in the targeted cities and governorates, by providing 85 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities and equipped to serve people with special needs. The capacity of one bus is 81 passengers, and it operates 18 hours a day, from one hour 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., seven days a week.

This service, which costs 3.45 riyals per trip, contributes to providing multiple transportation options for the residents and visitors of Dammam and Al-Qatif Governorate.
