The security authorities in Lebanon thwarted an operation to smuggle narcotics into Roumieh prison (the largest prison in the country) by means of a drone.
And the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces announced in a statement today (Thursday) that the security services in Roumieh Central Prison at the end of last month detected a drone (DRONE) on the roof of the prison for convicts and seized it, explaining that after the detection it was found to be of a gray color of the type “DJI”, and carrying a bag. She pointed out that during the inspection of the bag, 74 narcotic pills, a white substance, a cell phone containing a SIM card, a USB data folder and earphones were found inside it, stressing that the investigation is underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and work is continuing to arrest those involved in the operation.
