Spokesman for the government delegation to the prisoner negotiations, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights, Majed Fadael, announced today (Wednesday) that (Friday) has been set as the date for the exchange of prisoners.

Fadael said in tweets on his Twitter account: “It was confirmed that the exchange process will start on Friday morning, corresponding to April 14, 2023, which will last for three days, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.”

He added: "With the numbers and numbers agreed upon, and with the same mechanism, through six airports and a number of flights that will be operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross between the airports of Sana'a, Aden, Mocha Sana'a, Sana'a Tadawin, Sana'a, Riyadh, Abha, Sana'a, and vice versa."

The head of the government delegation to the prisoner negotiations, Yahya Kazman, told Okaz: The exchange process will take place through 13 flights that will be carried out in six airports, explaining that the first operation will be on Friday between Sana’a airport and Aden, and on Saturday between Riyadh airport, Abha Sana’a and Mokha, and on Sunday the flights will be between the airport. The Yemeni government and the Houthis reached an agreement during negotiations in the Swiss capital, Bern, to exchange more than 880 prisoners, in a new sign of hope with the acceleration of efforts to end the war.

The last major exchange took place in October 2020, when more than 1,050 prisoners were released from both sides.
