An official in the Sudanese army vowed to defeat the Secret Support Forces, and said in a statement to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels today (Sunday): “The battles may take days to defeat the Rapid Support Forces in all states.”
The army said in a statement posted on "Facebook" that the forces took control of the bases and headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces in Port Sudan, Kassala, Gedaref, Damazin, Kosti and Kadugli. The statement added that members of the support forces fled from those sites, leaving all their equipment and vehicles.
And the General Command of the Armed Forces announced the fall of the largest base of the Rapid Support Forces in Karari (Jabal Sarkab) in Omdurman under the hands of the armed forces, and the control of all mechanisms, weapons and equipment of the rebel militias, and it also announced control of the headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces in Kosti and Kadugli.
The Sudanese army announced the control of vehicles and ammunition belonging to the Rapid Support Forces in the Blue Nile state, while eyewitnesses confirmed that the Sudanese army surrounded Marawi airport from all directions.
The General Command of the Armed Forces said: "We are managing our battle with steadfastness and focus. We are in complete control of the general position of the operation. There is no truth to the rebels' claims that the General Command is besieging it." She emphasized that clashes are taking place here and there, but the situation is heading towards stability and there is nothing to worry about.
