The Food and Drug Authority imposed penalties on 54 establishments that violated the system of establishments, pharmaceutical and herbal preparations, and did not commit to providing registered pharmaceutical preparations to the local market, and did not submit a direct notification of the movement of the drug in the electronic tracking system, and did not inform the authority about an expected shortage or interruption in the supply of the company’s registered preparations during March the past.
The authority stated that the inspectors monitored (22) establishments for non-compliance with providing their registered pharmaceutical products to the market, (21) establishments for failure to notify the direct (instantaneous) movement of the drug in the electronic tracking system, and (11) pharmaceutical establishments for non-compliance with reporting an expected shortage or interruption in the supply. Supplying registered preparations to the company, and the penalties prescribed in the Law of Establishments, Pharmaceutical and Herbal Preparations and its Implementing Regulations were imposed.
The Pharmaceutical and Herbal Preparations and Establishments Regulation requires factories and warehouses trading in pharmaceutical and herbal preparations to have a permanent stock sufficient for six months of all their registered preparations. These establishments must also inform the Authority in the event of an expected shortage or interruption in the supply of the company’s registered preparations for a period of not less than six months from The expected time of supply disruption or inventory impact, with solutions that contribute to compensating for the shortfall.
