And confirms the selection of the city of “Ras Al-Khair” for mining industries because of its great importance in opening new horizons for development and its attractiveness in its strategic location overlooking the Arabian Gulf, as it has the industrial port of Ras Al-Khair, which is equipped with infrastructure and sea depths suitable for mining industries, and in Ras Al-Khair as well. An important project is the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industrial Services, which includes an area for the manufacture of giant ships, consisting of two dry docks and industrial buildings for the manufacture of ship engines, in addition to another area for the manufacture of marine platforms and rigs, and an area for ship repair and maintenance, and a special part for marine supply ships that contains A number of dry anchors, private ship cranes, repair and construction of offshore supply vessels.

Ras Al-Khair City for Mining Industries is the third industrial city run by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, after Jubail and Yanbu, as the Council of Ministers issued Resolution No. and providing services to the mining and other industries along the lines of the two industrial cities of Jubail and Yanbu.

And the honorable royal decree was issued in 2011 AD to change the name of the city of Ras Al-Zour to the city of Ras Al-Khair because of the significance and depth of the name in the meaning and the building. The area of the city of Ras Al-Khair for mining industries is 178.6 square kilometers.

Ras Al-Khair City for Mining Industries is located to the north of Jubail Industrial City, about 60 km on the coast of the Arabian Gulf. There are currently a number of phosphate and aluminum factories and the necessary facilities for production work and the necessary basic equipment. The city of Ras Al-Khair will include the largest integrated mining industrial complexes in the world and all facilities. The basic foundations of these industries to enable the Kingdom to export its mining products to the local and international markets.

In a short period of time, the Royal Commission was able to commission it to prepare a general plan for the city of Ras Al-Khair to determine the path of its industrial and economic development. The Royal Commission is also working on developing the city’s infrastructure and logistical services to support manufacturing in all its stages and types, and to obtain the highest possible amount of added value, with the aim of translating the wise visions of the leadership in developing the mining industry so that it forms an important basis for achieving economic diversification, transfer and localization of technology and highly skilled professions associated with it. in the mining industry.
