The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the killing of one of its advisors in an Israeli attack on the outskirts of Damascus at dawn today (Friday). Israeli missiles targeted sites southwest of the Syrian capital, causing material damage and wounding two Syrian soldiers, according to the official Syrian news agency, SANA.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard issued a statement confirming the death of Milad Heidari, one of its military members, in the attack that targeted the suburbs of Damascus. He pointed out that Heidari is one of the advisers and officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Syria, according to the Tasnim Agency of the Guard.

It is noteworthy that Israel carried out the second Israeli strike near Damascus in less than 24 hours, at dawn Thursday near the Syrian capital. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli missiles targeted military sites of the Syrian regime and loyalist forces in southwest Damascus. The Observatory added that the missiles destroyed a weapons and ammunition depot, without mentioning any casualties.

Over the past years, Israel launched hundreds of air strikes in Syria, targeting regime sites and other targets of the Lebanese Hezbollah, including weapons and ammunition depots in separate areas.
