The Saudi leadership attaches great priority to the interests of the peoples of the region and is always keen on achieving stability, prosperity and development, working to end all differences and conflicts, and bridging the rift between its various political components, in order to reach a lasting peace that leads to restoring cohesion and advancing it to the ranks of developed countries.
The call of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during the Jeddah Summit on Security and Development, which was held on April 15, 2022 AD at the King Abdullah International Conference Center in Jeddah, for cooperation in achieving security, stability and prosperity in the region was the strongest message emanating from the Kingdom's moderate policy and approach that is keen on the interests of The peoples of the countries of the region, including Yemen, which occupies a major position and the political leadership attaches special attention to it and works hard to unify the Yemeni national ranks, end conflicts, stop the bloodshed, and achieve stability in a way that meets the aspirations of its honorable people and prepares for it its civilization and its historical position among the Arab countries and the world and eliminates all obstacles that prevent the advancement of This ancient country is economically, developmentally, politically and culturally, especially since this sister country is not only linked to the Kingdom by geography, but by religion, blood, brotherhood and a common destiny.
Today, the Yemeni political components are facing a golden opportunity led by the Kingdom, which is added to its historical efforts for decades, in which it has worked to uphold the interest of the Yemeni people and their hopes for stability, development and prosperity, and to end conflicts, crises, disagreements and hatreds whose results are always painful and destroy the state and its institutions and exhaust the people, leading to a political solution. comprehensive.
For decades, the Kingdom has been on the side of the Yemeni people and their interests, and has worked hard to end many challenges and bring all political forces together on a common note, the last of which was when it led the efforts of the countries of the region to solve the crisis in Yemen in 2011, and those efforts resulted in persuading former President Ali Abdullah Saleh relinquished power and signed the Gulf initiative between the Yemeni parties in Riyadh and supervised a national dialogue that succeeded in laying the foundations for building a state for all Yemenis, in addition to the Kingdom inviting the Yemeni parties in 2015 to a conference in Riyadh, under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and led efforts in 2016 to persuade the Houthis and the government Yemeni government to cease fire and sit at the table of Yemeni-Yemeni consultations in Geneva 1, Geneva 2 and Kuwait under the supervision of the United Nations, in addition to its support for the Stockholm consultations that led to the agreement on Hodeidah 2018, and it did not stop at that, but rather launched a comprehensive solution initiative in Yemen in March 2021 that was announced Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, which stresses the cease-fire and the deposit of taxes and customs revenues for oil derivative ships from the port of Hodeidah in the joint account at the Central Bank of Yemen in Hodeidah, in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, the opening of Sanaa airport and the start of consultations for a political solution between the Yemeni parties, stressing that the solution to the crisis is in Yemen is political and can only be achieved with the agreement of the Yemeni components, which it is achieving in its current efforts.
The Kingdom did not stop its attempts over the past years to achieve a breakthrough and end the conflicts in Yemen, but rather, in March 2021 AD, it supported the initiative called for by the Gulf Cooperation Council for a cease-fire and for all Yemeni parties, including the Houthis, to sit at the Yemeni-Yemeni consultation table, and the Kingdom encouraged the Yemeni government to accept Armistice in 2021 and its extension.
The success in achieving a breakthrough in the wall of the Yemeni crisis is a victory for the legitimate government and the coalition and reflects the implementation of their political will against all those who seek to perpetuate the conflict and crisis in Yemen in light of the recent positive developments in the region, especially since the opportunity today is more prepared than ever to achieve peace between all parties. And the Yemeni components and lead to the elimination of all efforts to stir up conflicts, chaos and violence and continue in the cycle of fighting and destroying the ancient country.
The southern issue constitutes an important axis in any future solution for Yemen, and even gives it an interest in including the issue of the people of the south in the negotiation agenda within the stages of a comprehensive political settlement in Yemen, and establishing a special negotiating framework for it in the comprehensive peace process, according to the outcomes of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations that were held in Riyadh in 2021, and the Kingdom continues its absolute support for the Leadership Council and all its components and will not give up that in light of the achievements made after its formation, including the escalation of positive international reactions towards the decision and the noticeable decrease in negative UN reports on the situation inside Yemen, in addition to bringing together the Yemeni components. The active and influential parties within a common organizational framework enable them to collectively take decisions in various files, in addition to the economic support and development projects that Yemen received after the establishment of the Council.
And based on its political efforts, the Kingdom has not stopped since the beginning of the Yemeni crisis in its humanitarian, relief and economic efforts, which target all Yemenis from Socotra to Saada, and extends its hand permanently to its brothers, and this culminated in success in preventing the brotherly country from reaching a humanitarian catastrophe by providing 3 deposits to the Central Bank of Yemen The first was in 2012, following the political crisis and the success of the Gulf initiative in achieving penetration, in which one billion dollars were deposited in the Central Bank of Yemen in Sana’a in support of the Yemeni economy, and on February 20, 2017, two billion dollars were deposited in the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden in support of the Yemeni riyal, and in support of the Leadership Council. Last year, the Presidential Council provided a deposit of two billion dollars equally between the Kingdom and the UAE to the Central Bank of Yemen, in addition to granting oil derivatives at a value of $622 million, and development projects and initiatives that were recently presented through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen at a value of $400 million, and it continues to provide support to the Council and the Yemeni people. This contributed to the preservation of the Yemeni economy and the non-collapse of the national currency, as well as the continuous humanitarian support that did not stop and was keen on the interests of the Yemeni people.
Saudi Arabia attaches special importance to its Yemeni brothers in the labor market and has striven to provide facilities and rectify the conditions of the community, and even to continue to grant visas to Yemeni workers within the framework of its constant keenness to help its brothers with whom it has many common fraternal factors that require it to spare no effort in order to save Yemen and its assistance in achieving a comprehensive and just peace, in building the state it aspires to, and in advancing its economy with the rest of the countries in the region.
