The Saudi-Egyptian relationship is witnessing remarkable development, especially since it is a historical relationship based on strategic cooperation and continuous coordination towards issues of concern to both countries on the regional and international arenas.
These relations are characterized by mutual visits between the leaders of the two countries on a regular basis, in addition to the military, security and economic visits aimed at exchanging views of interest to Riyadh and Cairo, which contributed to the advancement of bilateral relations between the two countries to the stage of partnership.
This relationship, with the support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, reached the level of strategic partnership through the establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council, mutual agreements, protocols, and memorandums of understanding between government institutions.
The Kingdom and Egypt enjoy weight, strength and influence on the Arab, Islamic and international levels, which enhances the level and keenness of the two countries to coordinate and continuous political consultation between them, to discuss all regional and international issues in the face of common challenges, and to serve the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations, and international peace and security.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is visiting Jeddah today (Sunday), during which Al-Sisi will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, especially on the political and economic levels, and expanding the scope of investment.
The Kingdom is one of the main countries that supported the foreign reserves of a number of countries during the “Covid-19” pandemic, including Egypt, as it recently provided a deposit of $3 billion to the Central Bank of Egypt, in addition to extending previous deposits in the amount of $2.3 billion.
The Kingdom contributes to strengthening Egypt's development efforts through the support it provides through the Saudi Fund for Development, as the value of the Fund's contributions amounted to 8846.61 million riyals for 32 projects in vital sectors for their development and financing.
