At the level of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, stc recorded an increase in the volume of data traffic by more than 51% compared to last year during peak hours, while it recorded an increase in voice traffic exceeding 10% from last year, and the network passed more than a third of Internet traffic through the fifth generation technology, an increase of 130%. . These numbers come as a result of the stc group strengthening its network capacity in the Holy City, with an increase of 13% compared to last year, and the coverage of the fifth generation network increased by increasing its service sites by 25% in Makkah, and the expansion included the scope of the fifth generation network in the Grand Mosque in Makkah by 130%. On the other hand, the “Facebook” application topped the list of social media applications that consume the most data on the stc network in the Great Mosque of Mecca and its surrounding areas, followed by “Tik Tok”, “Snapchat”, “YouTube” and “Instagram”. The average daily use of these applications is more than 43,000 gigabytes per day in the Great Mosque of Mecca.
