The Acting Acting Sudanese delegate, Ambassador Al-Sadiq Omar Abdullah, stated that it was the Rapid Support Forces that started the attack on the residence of the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in the General Command of the Army, pointing out that there was a scheduled meeting between Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Head of the Armed Forces. Sovereignty Council in it yesterday (Saturday).
He stressed that the Sudanese army's move aimed at defeating the attack and expelling the Rapid Support Forces, who were deployed extensively in government headquarters and institutions, such as radio, television, the Republican Palace and Khartoum Airport, relying on the element of surprise, pointing out that the Sudanese Armed Forces were on the lookout for them.
He said that the armed forces were able to inflict heavy losses on the rebels and are still combing some areas and pockets, noting that large numbers of the rebels have surrendered or fled to the neighboring states of Khartoum.
He added that the government dissolved the Rapid Support militia and declared it a rebel force to be dealt with on this basis, noting that all national, regional and international mediation failed to convince the dissolved Rapid Support militia to integrate into the national army according to the text of the framework agreement.
He revealed that the Sudanese army is now adopting a combat strategy with the rebellion aimed at reducing losses among civilians, government facilities and private property to a minimum, adding that "therefore, ending the rebellion and expelling it from the sites it controlled or sheltered in took a longer time."
He stressed that what is happening in Sudan is an internal matter, but said that the efforts of brotherly Arab countries are required to help calm the situation in the country.
Abdullah called on the meeting to confirm this matter and recommend that the matter be left to the Sudanese to complete the settlement between them, away from international interference. He said that this recommendation is important because the international system will take it into consideration in any position it may take regarding the events in Sudan.
