The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs indirectly rejected the announced mediations to resolve the crisis and stop the fighting, justifying that the current situation is an “internal matter” and that the Sudanese will reach a settlement on their own.
She expressed appreciation for the efforts of Arab and African countries and the international community to help calm the situation in the country, but stressed that this matter should be left to the Sudanese to achieve the required settlement between them, away from international interference.
And she explained in a statement, today (Monday), that the events resulted from the RSF's rebellion against the armed forces in a number of locations in the capital and some other cities, following the attack that it launched on the residence of the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in the guest house adjacent to the General Command of the Armed Forces.
She said that this attack took place “on the scheduled day of the meeting between the President of the Sovereignty Council, the Commander-in-Chief, and the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces.” Which indicates bad intentions on the part of the rapid support ».
And she added, “Accordingly, the armed forces, based on their duty and national responsibility to achieve security and stability in the country, responded to the attack and expelled the Rapid Support Forces from the vicinity of the General Command, as well as other headquarters that those rebel forces tried to seize, such as the Republican Palace, Khartoum Airport, and the headquarters of the Radio and Television Corporation.”
It reported that the armed forces managed to defeat the rebels and inflicted heavy losses on them in lives and equipment, which forced large numbers of them to surrender or flee from the battlefield to the neighboring states of Khartoum state. And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that as a result of the rebellion of the Rapid Support Command, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces issued a decision to dissolve the Rapid Support Forces and declare it a rebellious force against the state, and it will be dealt with on this basis. It revealed that the national, regional and international mediations that sought to persuade the Rapid Support Command to integrate into the armed forces failed due to the intransigence of its leaders in accepting this matter.
