The Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, honored the students of the University of Jeddah and the General Administration of Education in Jeddah. The winners of the University of Jeddah competition for the Holy Qur’an in its 14th edition, in the presence of the President of Jeddah University, the Director General of Education in Jeddah Governorate, and a number of university leaders, at the University’s Conference Center, with the participation of more than 1,000 male and female contestants.

The Secretary-General of the competition, Dr. Fahd Al-Otari, confirmed that the competition witnessed the Qur’anic week in its third season, which was titled: The Holy Qur’an from Revelation to Codification, indicating that the competition was attended by a group of specialists, through lectures and discussions that showed the virtue of the Noble Qur’an and its history from its download until its codification. Especially since it enjoys great care and support at all levels, and prizes amounting to half a million riyals have been allocated for the participants.

The Governor of Jeddah watched a visual presentation that includes the stages of the competition since its inception, and the President of the University of Jeddah, Dr. Adnan Al-Humaidan, revealed that the University of Jeddah is the first university among the Kingdom’s universities that established a secretariat for the Holy Qur’an, and was keen to play a leading role in serving the Holy Qur’an, and to diversify the paths in which it takes place. It is noteworthy that the competition prizes are sums of money, in addition to two cars for the first male and female students.
