The head of the Syrian Negotiation Commission, Dr. Badr Jamous, stressed that a political solution is the only way to stabilize Syria, and not to be a burden on the international community, pointing out during a meeting with the Deputy Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, Najat Rushdi, that the negotiation body is ready to engage immediately in the political process According to UN Security Council resolutions.

Jamous called on the deputy envoy of the Secretary-General to visit northwestern Syria, stressing the need to work seriously to restore the political process to the normal track in the corridors of the United Nations and not through bilateral tracks. The meeting, which was held in Istanbul yesterday (Tuesday), discussed recent developments in the Syrian file and the role of the United Nations in activating the political process.

The head of the commission called for the importance of informing the United Nations and its international envoy of the areas affected by the earthquake disaster, and meeting the forcibly displaced people and hearing from them, indicating that northern Syria needs international support, especially after the earthquake disaster.

The Negotiations Committee is moving at several international levels in order to activate the political process with the Syrian regime, and work to urge Western countries to advance the political track.
