Saudi Arabia achieved a new achievement in the transport and logistics system, after it jumped 17 ranks globally in the logistics index issued by the World Bank.

The Kingdom advanced to 38th place out of 160 countries in the international ranking in the logistics efficiency index, after it achieved wide leaps in performance efficiency through a number of sub-indicators, most notably the logistics efficiency index, the tracking and tracing index, the timing index, the customs index, the infrastructure index, and shipping index.

The Kingdom achieved global leadership in the container port efficiency performance index issued by the World Bank. King Abdullah Port came in first place after it was in second place, and Jeddah Islamic Port ranked eighth, up from 53rd place, and King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam advanced to 14th place after it was in 102nd place, which enhances the competitiveness of Saudi ports.

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom recently recorded progress in the Maritime Navigation Network Connectivity Index issued by (UNCTAD) to an average of 71.33 points as a result of adding 25 shipping lines and new shipping services until the end of 2022, in cooperation with major international shipping companies.
