As the concerned agencies announced more than once that major smuggling operations had been thwarted, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority revealed an attempt to smuggle more than two million Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a consignment coming to the Kingdom through the Haditha port. The authority stated that a consignment was received to the Kingdom through the port in a shipment of "tomatoes and pomegranates" carried on one of the incoming trucks, and when it was subjected to customs procedures and examined through security techniques, a quantity of grains was found within the consignment, as it was hidden inside the cavities of the fruits of tomatoes and pomegranates.
In a second operation, the General Directorate for Narcotics Control announced the seizure of about 5 million tablets of narcotic amphetamine. In the same regard, the land patrols of the Border Guard in the Al-Ardah sector in Jazan region arrested 6 violators of the border security system of Ethiopian nationality, and the patrols indicated that the arrested were found in possession of 54 kilograms of narcotic hashish, indicating that the regular procedures were completed against them and they were handed over and the seized items to the competent authority. .
The spokesman for the General Directorate of Border Guards, Colonel Misfer Al-Quraini, announced that attempts to smuggle 52.3 tons of the narcotic khat plant, 650 kilograms of hashish, and 352,000 tablets of amphetamine were thwarted, were thwarted in several regions.
He indicated that 362 violators of the border security system were also arrested.
