The General Transport Authority announced the mechanism for booking electronic appointments for trucks to enter during the ban times for the city of Riyadh and the Jeddah governorate during the blessed Ramadan, indicating that it was determined according to the ban times announced by the General Traffic Department.
And she explained that trucks licensed in the activity of transporting goods can book appointments through the “enter cities” service, in the electronic transportation portal, and enter them with specific paths to facilitate their movement and movement during times of prohibition.
She indicated that the electronic appointment booking service will contribute to preventing the accumulation of trucks at the main entrances to cities, in addition to organizing and managing the flow of trucks, and raising the efficiency and quality of digital services in the logistics sector.
The authority pointed out that carriers can benefit from the “entry of trucks into cities” service through the electronic transportation portal “entry into cities”, which provides many supportive and enabling electronic services for carriers to engage in transportation activities.
The General Traffic Department had warned of the need to adhere to the specified times for the entry of trucks for the safety of all.
And she noted that it is forbidden to enter trucks in the city of Riyadh during the blessed Ramadan from Sunday to Thursday from 8 am to 2 am, and services from 8 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 6 pm, and on weekends it is prohibited to enter trucks from 4 pm until 8 pm. In the morning, and services from 4 pm to 6 pm and from 9 pm to 1 am, while entry is prohibited along Makkah Road (Khurais) between exit 13 to the embassies east and west, and King Fahd Road from exit 4 to Algeria Square (Dirab) north and south.
She indicated that it is forbidden to enter trucks in Jeddah governorate from Sunday to Thursday from 9 am to 7 pm and from 9 pm to 1 am except for Thursday until 3 am, and on holidays it is prohibited from entering from 4 pm to 7 pm and from 9 pm to 3 am except for Saturday. Until 1 am, with the exception of water tanks (desalination) and cleaning compressors.
And the General Traffic Department stated that the times for preventing entry of trucks during the blessed Ramadan in Dammam, Dhahran and Al-Khobar start from 9 am until 11 am, from 3 pm until 6 pm, and from 9 pm until 12 pm.
