A YouGov poll revealed that more than 50% of Republicans are ready to support the candidacy of former US President Donald Trump, during the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for 2024.
According to the poll, the majority of Republicans are ready to support Trump despite the authorities' intention to file charges against him in the scheduled court (Tuesday).
And 52% of the party's supporters announced their vote for Trump, followed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with a support rate of 21%, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in third place with a support rate of 5%.
Another poll, conducted by YouGov, about the jury's decision to direct more than 30 charges against Trump, showed that 43% consider that the jury's decision is motivated by political bias, while 42% consider that this decision stems from their desire to hold Trump accountable.
Meanwhile, 37 Republicans in the House of Representatives, including more than a third of the Republican Party members in the Judiciary and Oversight Committees working to investigate President Joe Biden and the Manhattan District Attorney, announced the support of former US President Donald Trump in his court case (Tuesday). .
The endorsements, which also include five Republican senators, reflect the wall of support in Congress he has built to bolster his 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump, who is now facing criminal charges in New York, frequently reaches out to supporters such as House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Republican convention chairman Elise Stefanik to discuss Republican investigations into Biden and Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg.
And Jordan and Stefanik, who are also members of the judiciary committee that aims to "weaponise" law enforcement against conservatives, are particularly key players in Trump's orbit.
They wielded significant influence over committees that have so far unsuccessfully tried to obtain documents and testimony from the Prague investigation into Trump's alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump is currently supported by 9 of the 25 Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, and 11 of the 26 Republicans serving on the House Oversight Committee do so as well.
Also among Trump's supporters in the House leadership is Republican Conference Secretary Rep. Richard Hudson, a North Carolina Republican. Other prominent House Republicans who support the former president include Jim Banks running for Senate, Small Business Committee Chairman Roger Williams and Veterans Affairs Chairman Mike Post as well as Ronnie Jackson. Trump is supported in the Senate by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, Senators Tommy Tuberville, JD Vance, Eric Schmidt and Marquin Mullen.
