Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Monitoring Transportation of Hajj and Umrah Performers, directed Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah Research, to conduct a study to monitor and record field observations, and evaluate the transportation service for worshipers and Umrah performers to and from the Grand Mosque.

The Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Adnan Al-Shahrani, said: “The research team is working during the blessed Ramadan to measure the travel times of about 650 buses on the four lanes during the operating period; By recording readings of the bus travel time from the station to the end of the track, the ratio of the number of passengers to the operating capacity of each bus, and the time it takes from the first passenger to board until the bus moves. He added that the research team is also working on measuring the time it takes from the bus to move and the next bus to stop in the loading area, monitoring the ratio of buses in the station to its operational capacity, the presence of deportees and operation supervisors at the station, and the availability of public services at the station; Pointing out that the results of this data, which were collected from a scientific perspective, will be submitted to the relevant authorities, with the aim of predicting the observations that may face the guests of Rahman.

Al-Shahrani stressed the importance of the institute's role in studying the needs of the pilgrims, and the quality of services provided to them during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
