Republican Senator Lindsey Graham announced his support for a joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and America, calling for the approval of an agreement that would make Saudi Arabia more like a country from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Graham said in an exclusive interview with Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels yesterday (Monday): “This may be the best opportunity I have seen in decades to develop relations between Saudi Arabia and America, and I will work to help Saudi Arabia in what it needs to build a peaceful nuclear energy program.”
He added, "Things happened in Saudi Arabia that I did not believe could happen, and I thought it was just hearsay, but now I have the right to change my course."
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, met in Jeddah, (Tuesday) last, with the US Senator from South Carolina. During the meeting, they reviewed the friendly relations between the two countries, and a number of issues of common concern.
