The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region revealed the statistics of the communications that it initiated during the first 15 days of the month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH, amounting to 25,303 communications. The ambulance teams responded to them, and 8,819 patients were transferred after providing them with emergency medical care to various medical facilities. The authority stated that the reports varied between sick cases, which are the highest requests for the ambulance teams, followed by traffic accidents and other cases that the ambulance teams dealt with with high efficiency through specialized human cadres and mechanisms equipped with the latest equipment necessary to provide an integrated ambulance service. The authority indicated that the total volunteer hours amounted to 20,916 volunteer hours, during which 1,743 male and female volunteers participated in providing the ambulance service in the Holy Mosque of Mecca.
