The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority revealed that the “cancellation of fines and exemption from financial penalties” initiative, which was announced to be extended for an additional 6 months, expires on May 31, does not include fines related to declarations due after November 30, 2022, and several other fines.
She added that the initiative does not include all fines resulting from tax evasion violations, including fines for late payment, filing of declarations, delays in registration, and amendment of declarations.
The authority clarified the mechanism for installment of tax dues during the “exemption from fines” initiative as follows. And the controls for the installment of tax dues, and in the event that the Authority cancels the installment plan as a result of the taxpayer’s failure to comply with it, it will calculate all fines due on unpaid amounts from the due date of their original payment.
